What to expect

As a first-time guest, you are considered our V.I.P.  When driving into the parking area, simply turn on your flashing lights and our parking crew will direct you to a front-row parking spot!  After parking, visit the first-time guest tent located by the main entrance.  We have a special gift waiting for you!  If you have children, one of our volunteers will help you check them in to XRKids.  The volunteer will also guide you into the building, so you know where everything is located.  We want to make your visit easy!

We encourage you to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.  There are four incredible worship experiences to choose from: Saturday @ 6:00PM, and Sunday @ 8:30, 9:45, and 11:15AM.

XRKids is offered during every worship experience for the following ages:

Crawlers | Ages 0 to 1

Walkers | Ages 2 to 3

Explorers | Ages 4 to 6

Studio | Ages 7 to 11

Your child is important to us. On your first visit, we will need the following personal information: parent/legal guardian names, children’s names and birthdates, address, phone number and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for each child. This information is entered into our XRKids database to help maintain our secure check-in system.  An early arrival makes for a quick check-in.

Your child’s safety is our first priority. All XRKids volunteers pass a background check, and we have security cameras in each class room.  We use a security tag system for child check-in and pick-up, and a paging system for parents/guardians in case we need to reach you during the worship experience.

We’d love to talk in person on the weekend, or you can email anytime.

Since 2009, Pastor Derick Amsler has been Lead Pastor of Crossroads Church. After the church was portable for ten years, a location became available in 2014 when New Hope Church in Shepherdstown, WV donated their building to Crossroads in the effort to combine ministries. The structure underwent a total renovation to align with the creative culture of the House and to create an atmosphere that is welcoming to the people and honorable to God.

Our church is in a season of unprecedented growth as we embrace the hand of God on our servant leadership and church family. We have recently gone from averaging 250 people per week in 2014, to now over 1,100 per week with four service times on Saturday and Sunday for the past year, and growing.

Currently, we are located West Virginia’s eastern panhandle, nestled in quaint Shepherdstown, an area of rich history and home of Shepherd University. West Virginia’s eastern panhandle enjoys close proximity to Maryland, Virginia and even the greater Washington, D.C. metro area while remaining a close-knit and friendly community. We see “regulars” attending and serving at Crossroads week after week from all over our tristate area, with a concentration of our families residing along the I-81 corridor, positioning us to become poised and prepared to go multisite in the near future.

Beliefs web.jpg

  • The Scriptures are true, authoritative and sufficient.

Psalm 19:7-11;  2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

  • There is one true God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-6; Isaiah 46:9-10; John 17:3; 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Corinthians 8:4-6

  • All humanity, Christ excluded, is sinful by birth and action, and Jesus Christ died as the sacrificial substitute to pay the penalty for sin.  Only through faith in the person and works of Jesus Christ and repentance from sin can one be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy.

Romans 3:12-21, 23, 5:8, 7:18; Ephesians 2:1-3

  • Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and will one day physically return, and only those who turn from sin and to Jesus in faith and repentance will be raised to eternal reward.

Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-53; John 11:24-25, 14:3; 1 Corinthians 15:12-34; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Hebrews 9:28; 1 John 3:2; Revelation 1:7
